This full-time role would allow you to help support our team of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professionals more effectively serve our clients by helping to organize information for our advisors, ensure that we are following the proper workflows, and getting follow-up done in an efficient manner. The best part is that you can help to impact the lives of our clients, without having to be the one responsible for crafting the message and relaying complex financial topics. This role allows you to learn how our CFP® professionals present recommendations to clients, which will be helpful if your career aspirations align with becoming a financial planner.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified entry-level or early financial planning career candidate to join our growing Fee-Only Wealth Management Firm. The candidate will work with both Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional (FPQP) and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) team members to learn how to analyze financial data, input that data into our planning software and prepare various deliverables for client meetings. Candidates will also maintain accurate data in our firm’s CRM system and process paperwork and requests for client items at our custodian. In addition to the previously mentioned responsibilities, a candidate will also participate in and help support special projects within the firm as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You can expect to gain exposure in the area of Financial Planning. Duties and Responsibilities per business unit include:

Financial Planning

  • Review and analyze client information including financial statements, tax documents, legal documents, insurance policies, and other data.
  • Preparing and processing documents with for client accounts with our custodian to open/close accounts, process transfers and rollovers.
  • Manage financial planning software including financial plan input and running various scenarios. Print reports for meetings with clients.
  • Attend client meetings in a supporting and learning role as required.
  • Prepare tax projections, estate flowcharts, and other meeting materials.
  • Maintain client information and communication within our firm’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Scanning of client and firm documents.
  • Create Investment Policy Statements for clients.
  • Respond directly to client requests.

General

  • Attend Market Street Staff meetings.
  • Assist with other special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

An ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree (strong preference for Bachelor’s degree) in financial planning or similar major.
  • Interested in a career with an Independent Fee-Only Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) business.
  • Ability to work in our Indianapolis Office, with preference given to candidates who also have the ability to work in our Crawfordsville Office.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and work unsupervised.
  • Understanding of Fiduciary responsibility to clients.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in dealing with client matters.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Self-starter, energetic, assertive, and eager to learn.
  • Professional demeanor, team player, excellent people skills.
  • Desire to work successfully in a small company environment.
